Man Booker Prize

The Man Booker prize for Fiction (previously Booker-McConnell Prize), which launched in 1969, aims to promote the finest in fiction by rewarding the best novel of the year written in English and published in the United Kingdom. The award was originally limited to eligible citizens of the Commonwealth of Nations (of Great Britain), The Republic of Ireland and Zimbabwe. Beginning in 2014, citizenship was eliminated and any book written in English and published in the UK is eligible for the award.
